Men and their Toys! Salted Butter Caramel Sauce

                                     Happy Father's Day!

My hero, my Dad. He was someone I looked up to, whom I idolized, and who helped form, who I am today. I miss him, but honor him on Father's Day and he honor's me, with fond memories. Dad, your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever.

A tongue in cheek satire~

Men begin their life as boy's playing with their toys and friends.

Our son TT (Dustin) playing with one of his early toys.
They go to school, find a career and possibly find a life mate. They may choose to have a family.............

Emma, our Grandchild and Paul , our son. Being a Father suits him just fine. Love.....Happy 1ST Father's Day Paul!!
Our darling Grand daughter Julia and son-in-law Ross, Daddy's love. Happy 1ST Father's Day Ross!!

Boy's grow into men, toys grow into............... bigger toys!!

TT has waited a long time to get back to his Back Hoe!!

Wee Bear- A Wonderful Father

Wee Bear and Emma, who is now 2 months old.

Wee Bear has two children, who came into my life at 12 and 14. They quickly adapted to life with my children, who were 11 and 14. They grew up together, became very close, going on many family vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, lots of ski trips and various other locations. They have all married, have been attendants in each others weddings and remain very close. We like to say, they are better together, than apart!! Now, they are starting their family's, as you can imagine we are thrilled to become Grandparents. Wee Bear is a wonderful, loving and caring Father to his children and mine. And, is truly enjoying being a Grand Father.

This Father's Day I want to give Wee Bear what he really wants - a nice comfy Lazy Boy, a 60" High Def TV with the US Open on, and a burger with his favorite blue cheese and extra crispy french fries!

For Wee Bear it is a toss up between a burger and spaghetti for his favorite meal. But, when it comes to dessert, he loves caramel sauce, and if I put some salt into the mix, even better!!

Salted Butter Caramel Sauce
from  "Perfect Scoop" David Lebovitz

6 T butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. heavy cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 tsp. course Kosher or Sea Salt

Melt the butter in a large, deep heavy-duty saucepan. Stir in the sugar and cook, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and is a deep golden brown and starts to smoke.

Remove from heat and immediately whisk in half of the cream until smooth (wear a oven mitt, it will steam and splatter and may bubble up). Stir in the rest of the cream, then the vanilla and salt. If there are any lumps of caramel, whisk the sauce gently over low heat until they're dissolved. Serve warm.

*This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Rewarm gently in microwave or over low heat.

To all the amazing Father's out there

Happy Father's Day Weekend! Enjoy! JJ

    1. It seems surreal to be so blessed. It seems like yesterday, we were all in the Suburban, headed to Mount Bachelor, on that first ski trip. I look back and wish we could do it all again! We have good times and more memories to make in the future, we are soaking it all in ....enjoy every minute, we are. Love you
