Cowboy cupcakes! How to make!

Last week end I hosted a "Western themed" party for my Mother who turned 95!! My large family all pitched in and helped with the decorating and set up. However, because of the size of the party, I had Carolina Smoke in Bothell, Washington cater the party. More details of the party will be in my next blog " How to throw a Western themed party"! I thought these cute little cupcakes deserved their own blog!

Remember Sweet One aka Amy? Well, she has been super busy with her son, my grandson Cooper and working at home in the family business. She unfortunately has no time for the blog. But, now and then ......Sweet One and I made these cute cupcakes I found a picture of on the internet, but, no real tutorial or blog.

Cowboy Cupcakes
24 chocolate cupcakes, baked in paper liners
1/2 cup red icing
1/2 cup white frosting (to glue the gum drop to the hat
24 Pringle Potato chips
24 large gum drops       (link found on Amazon)
Brown twine

Tie a piece of string around each cup cake and knot for the lasso.

Frost the cupcakes with ganache, use a pastry bag fitted with a large fluted tip

Using a little bit of the white icing glue the gum drop to the Pringle, The gum drop does not fit perfectly as the Pringle is curved. Putting a bit of icing on each side of the gum drop works best, then, place into the chip. Allow a few minutes to dry.

Pipe with a tiny drawing tip, around the base of the hat.

It doesn't get much cuter than this my friends!!
Place the completed hat on the cupcake on an angle.

Yee Haw! You are done!

For display, to complete my theme, I bought little mini straw bales at Michaels.....so cute!

I displayed the "Cowboy cupcakes" on the table with a candy/popcorn bar! Note the cute little boots filled with jelly beans, so adorable! I had red solo cups for the popcorn, and lots of flavorings to sprinkle the popcorn with...YUM!!

Needless to say, we had so much fun...hundred's of pictures, I will give you a few now, and post more next week on the "How to throw a Western Party"!!

My family! Believe it or not, it's not all of them!!

My Mother, and my two older brothers!!
